All the good ones

I used to be a catch but now I'm not. I collected my baggage too early and now I carry it around forever on my own.
All the good ones are gone. Pastures new and all that.

Well they are just starting their lives while it feels like I'm in limbo. I'll always be 'that' girl.

It hurts

When we finished I didnt think it'd hurt this much. I know I'm over the initial non stop crying, but I think this is worse! I constantly have to prove my worth to myself and bring myself back from the brink of hopelessness. I go between wanting him back, to wanting him to suffer some awful fate. Ideally I'll win the lottery and then he will beg for me back and I'll tell him where to go... but there are 3 things there that are extremely unlikely to happen!

Just 'cause it's gross, and weird

Don't watch this if you don't like the bottom half of frogs- skinned.

From what I've read online, the reason they move is this: they take longer for riggor mortis to set in, and the salt produces some kind of electrical signal similar to what the frogs brain would produce which means that when salt is applied, the cells within the structure of the legs receive this 'signal' and move!

Breastfeeding

Every blog about parenting surely needs a bit about breast feeding!

I'm pro breast... though I'm not anti bottle... At 19 years of age, I managed it. Though from hearing others' experiences I had it pretty easy. She latched on straight away, no pain, and I wasn't afraid of whipping them out whenever necessary.
There were pros:

It's free (If you don't count 'having' to eat like a horse),
It's usually best for your baby,
It's amazing doing something so important for your baby,
No sterilizing bottles or teats,
No mixing milk, or having to prepare bottles in the middle of the night,

But there were also cons:
I was the only one that could feed her (she wouldn't take a bottle)
The above, meant no nights out/off until she was eating solids + drinking water.
Having a baby hanging off you for what seemed like the first 18 months of her life.

Personally I didn't mind any of the cons. Once she reached 18 months I knew it was time to wean her off... she wasn't co-operating. I got appendicitis and had to spend a few nights in hospital which meant no booby for baby as I was pumped up on drugs which turned my milk blue... when I came out of hospital she just wasn't interested any more, so that was it, weaning done. I'll always recommend breastfeeding, but not to the detriment of a mum or a baby.

"Mum, What's an a***hole?"

Today, Whilst eating our dinner She sprung this question on me.
My first reaction was "Where did you hear that?!" (hoping she wasn't about to tell me I said it), but when she told me I heard G say it I was quietly relieved. Not because she'd learnt a new bad word, but because It reinforced my happiness at the new situation- being single. No more bad person, no more bad words. I also know that I've raised her well enough to know it's a bad word, and not to say it!

My answer to her question, by the way "It's a horrible naughty word that naughty people say." She's only 5 after all.

5 years, 4 months, 21 days ago...

It all began when I gave birth to a curious little creature 5 years, 4 months and 21 days ago...

She was so little and cute. There have been ups and downs, comings and goings, we've seen pregnancies, births, relationships start and end, started things of our own, had adventures and proud moments that we will never get to live again.

The one consistent thing is the love we have for each other. That will never change.

I started this blog as a way to share things.
Things I have learnt, mistakes I have made, decisions that I've had to make. To share ideas, and little pieces of information.
The cutest teeny toes...
